Mahima Makwana recently worked in a song titled Dhadkanein Meri opposite Rohan Mehra. She is known for her bubbly nature in the television industry and is remembered for her portrayal of wonderful characters in TV serials like Sapne Suhane Ladakpan Ke, Rishton Ka Chakravyuh, and Mariam Khan: Reporting Live. Mahima in an EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW with Telly Chaska share about her career journey, her struggles and her love for animals and many more.

How do you manage the popularity and fame you have started receiving after your working Mariam Khan and Rishton Ka Chakravyuh?

It is something that no one should too seriously, I don’t take my fame too seriously I like it and it has got me because of my work, my profession and because of my art.

And I think it is really not constant, like today I am famous tomorrow success might not be in my favor. So, as they say, were your fame and success like a shirt and not like a Tuxedo. I try to keep it as light as possible. All the arrogance if I possess is not because of my fame.

What do you think got you this popularity, hard work or the luck factor?

I think it’s both, I can’t even ignore the fact that things are defined, things are already written. But it is not only destiny but hard work as well because sometimes the destiny might not be in your favor, you keep hard working and you reach wherever you want to.

Which would be your second career option if not acting?

I started up very early when I was 9-10’s, I got my first break when I was thirteen; I don’t really have another option. But if I had to choose, I would be doing something in the media field like advertising, or behind the scene or an assistant director so not exactly the profession but something in the field of arts.

The diciest decision you made in your career?

I have been doing TV for almost years and now I am working for the web series Flesh and this is my first break on the web portal. I think this is kind of risky and an exciting thing. And now that web is trending and you get what you want to do.

But entering into different territory and to enter into a different zone, you know about but you still don’t know, so it is risky…. But more than risky I will call it a challenging decision. I don’t know how it will work for me, hope it works in my favor

So, the recent thing I have done is to go for this web series, the content is very real and disturbing.

Share one happiest moment from your career.

I think when I got the show Rishton Ka Chakravyuh. It was a challenging role that I wanted to do it was such a meaty role and when I bagged it I was the happiest, even if the show doesn’t go for that long, I will make sure that people remember me as an actor for the show particularly, I am glad that has happened.

Others, when I got my first show may be. I am a very skeptical person, I keep thinking about did I make it right was it fine, and then at the end of the day when you go see how your day was, you have that one good feeling you had a great day is what actually makes me happy.

When was your first encounter with the camera? Do you remember your first dialogue?

It is very vague memory but my very first experience was in the episodic of Balika Vadhu and Mohe Rang De. This was the very initial experiences and I was dapped, what is this where have I come, what am I supposed to do, because I didn’t know anything to do with the acting itself, the environment and the work culture, I was 9 -10.

I was nervous there were times when I thought this is too much, maybe I can’t do it, I was contemplating on my decision but still going for it, but over the time I think I learned my job at my job.

Which is that one career dream yet to achieve?

One thing I always wanted to do is great content, so basically doing film and web series is something I want to do, yet see how my journey goes, this is something with I want to do and this is my motto to do a film.

Which Bollywood director would you like to work with if you got a chance?

Imtiaz Ail, and also want to work with many other directors like Karan Johar and Vikram Aditya Motvani, there are just so many to choose one.

One of your favorite movies which you like the most but made you cry a lot?

It is Hachiko, I love dogs, I love animals, I wish I could get myself a dog but my mom doesn’t allow me. I am hoping in my dreams to get one this year. I am really a cry baby and I really get emotional when I see a movie and I recently got to know that even this is a kind of genre which I love to enjoy.

But Hachiko is a film that will really stay with me.

One funniest incident you had on your sets.

So this happened on the set of Mariam Khan- Reporting Live, I and Param Singh are really great friends, we share a great bond and then this great show was doing great and everything was fine.

They one day suddenly  Param comes up and said : “I am leaving the show, I don’t think I can continuously “ with some XYZ reason and then I said dude you can’t do this, and he made up a really big story and I believe in it ,I started to cry and weep and my director instead of comforting me and everyone on the set were making fun of me and at the end of the day I realize it  was a prank.

And it was not for once it happened thrice I have always fallen for it but this was the only time when I was crying like a baby saying: “no don’t go.”

What would you like to say to all your fans?

I really like their effort and their love which they keep showering on me, to all the fans that are on my social media and not on my social media to them as well. A big thank you because it takes a lot to be kind, my fans and my well-wisher have done that.

They have always love and supported me in my journey throughout and I want them to keep loving me.

Which was the toughest phase in your career?

I think the rejection the failure they keep happening today as well, when you want to do a particular role and you don’t get it, oh my god that is the very bad feeling.

Whatever it is I don’t regret, I don’t feel bad about it. Whatever has happened have made me the person I am, the failures, the finical issue that I had , everything has evolved me into a person that I am, all of this  really helped me, I thought I won’t be able to face it  but then when it happens you just have to face it you can’t run away.

Share your mantra to success.

Though every body’s journey is different, one thing is very constant which I would like to say is being yourself and believe in yourself.

Believing and being your self is extremely important because they are people who will try to put you down, but you will need to know your capability and your ability. So I think you should know yourself as well as believing yourself and work hard.

If you got a chance to time travel where would you go in time? What would you like to do there?

Ok, I will give you two option I will travel back in time and live my childhood because I didn’t get the time to live my childhood memory as I was working. So just relive my childhood. And in the future, I will just travel and explore the future.
