Pyar Ka Pehla Naam Radha Mohan: Cast Share Their Monsoon Memories From Childhood
From jumping in puddles to travelling to Lonavala and bingeing on some warm and yummy food, the cast of Prateek Sharma’s ‘Pyar Ka Pehla Naam Radha Mohan’ share their favourite monsoon memories from childhood.
Radha (played by Neeharika Roy): I think my favourite memory that I can recall in the rain was when I was around 4 years old. I vaguely remember running and jumping in the puddles with my friends. We used to make paper boats and let them float in the puddles. My favourite monsoon songs are Cham Cham song from the movie Baaghi and Bhaage Re Mann from the film Chameli.
Ketki (played by Pooja Kava): There are a lot of memories, but if I have to pick up anyone, it would be a ride to this waterfall. My friends and I went to Lonavala in the monsoon once. And it was just so beautiful. The clouds were on the mountains and the weather was amazing. It was just perfect. And we all had a fun time. Travelling was the best and most adventurous part of our trip. When we were getting back to Mumbai, we had this huge traffic with heavy rains and the roads were completely flooded. And the way we crossed the roads was just crazy. As far as monsoon songs go I like all the KK romantic hits and even Prateek Kuhad songs.
Ajeet (played by Sumit Aroraa): My favourite monsoon memory is when I used to come from school, enjoying the rain with my friends. My favourite monsoon song is from Dil Toh Pagal Hai which is Koi Ladki Hai Jab Woh Hasti Hai, Baarish Hoti Hai, Chak Dhoom Dhoom.
Kaveri (played by Manisha Purohit): During my childhood days, I loved the monsoon a lot. When I used to come back from school on my bicycle, I used to love getting wet in the rain and after reaching home, I used to go on the terrace and enjoy getting wet again. My mom used to make bajias and I used to call my friends home and we all would enjoy it a lot. My favourite songs are Rimjhim Gire Sawan by Kishore Kumar and the other one is Sawan Barse Tarse Dil.
Rahul (played by Ranveer Singh Malik): Well my favourite monsoon memory would definitely be at Niagara Falls when I was studying for my master’s in Toronto. It was a delightful experience. Behind the falls, one can see the most memorable view. After taking a quick elevator ride that descends through 150 feet of bedrock, you’ll emerge into a dimly-lit tunnel which was carved out in the 1800s, that leads straight towards the rushing water. Whenever the monsoon begins, I always crave that adrenaline rush which I got on the ride of a whirlpool jet boat. The scenery is just breath-taking as you can see water and rain above you. It’s like heaven. I would definitely suggest everyone just try this beautiful experience once in a lifetime. Well, my favourite monsoon song would definitely be ” Rim Jhim Gire Sawan”. My dad used to listen to this song and because of him I also started loving this song. So while having a cup of coffee with some pakodas and enjoying the scenery of rain, I definitely love to hear or sing this song.
Kadambari (played by Swati Shah): The best monsoon memory that I have is that at the very beginning of my acting career, I and my husband had just started dating. We were supposed to do a show in Birla Krida theatre near Girgaon Chowpatty. It was pouring heavily and our show got cancelled. So then me and my husband went to the marine drive promenade. With rain pouring heavily and seeing the high tides, we cherished that beautiful moment.
Shekhar (played by Sunny Sachdeva): There are many memories of monsoons but the best monsoon memory I can recall is when I was in class 4th. I used to go to school on my own as the school was near to my home. That day the weather was amazing and it was just bout to rain. I left home in a hurry carrying my small umbrella and it started raining. I didn’t open my umbrella and just enjoyed the rain. Even today, the sound of rain fills my heart with a wave of nostalgia from the time when we were kids. My favourite monsoon song in those days was Deewana Main Chala song from Pyaar Kiya Toh Darna Kya. My all-time favourite monsoon song is “Kabhi Jo Baadal Barse”.
