A story of a son-mother duo with determination to live beyond a terminal disease- A Salam to Venky
Life is a fair game where one side a win and another side loss. But what if both sides of the coin are loss? What will a mother do to save his son from a terminal illness? This story manages to keep the audience hod tight to an end which is quite predictable but who knows how it will begin.
Salam Venky is a predictably extraordinary story of an ordinary boy who is diagnosed with some last-stage disease and has a few years rather few days left with him. It’s a story of a mother who is constantly on her feet to keep him happy and keep him alive as much as possible through a series of poking fun and enjoying every moment in her life with her only son.
Kajol has beautifully portrayed the character of Venky’s mother who keeps her son happy and has fulfilled every wish and desire to the tee but a final desire she is not going to fulfill which is euthanasia(demanding the law for taking self-life). Venky was played by a popular TV face and now a potential actor Vishal Jethwa, who was last seen in Mardaani 2 and was applauded with a such tricky role with Filmfare.
This movie truly touches the daily of a boy who is determined to be making people smile even with death near to him but struggles to do a simple activity without her mother’s help. The trailer has certain portions where her mother asks the law to allow him to die and the struggle to get Venky’s one last wish to come true. This story eventually becomes a popular one in the media and hence a media person comes to meet Venky and he gives a great reply that this story will give a big shock to the public but with small doses.
The story has similarities with Guzarish, talking about a life of a magician who after an accident is paralyzed for almost 20 years below the neck played by Hrithik Roshan. The terminal disease of Venky could be a neurological disorder similar to Stephen Hawking by the name of Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) but the movie shall reveal the truth on 9 December 2022. It even has a cameo of Aamir Khan who could be the father of Venky.
The director and popular South Indian actress Revathy will bring a story of a young man and his mother trying to make life large, not long (Zindagi Lambi Nahi, Badii Honi Chahiye…Babumoshii).
