Star Plus is set to launch a new and intriguing show titled Maati Se Bandhi Dor, featuring Rutuja Bagwe and Ankit Gupta in the lead roles. Rutuja Bagwe will be portraying the character of Vaijanati, also known as Vaiju, while Ankit Gupta will take on the role of Rannvijay.

The story is set against the vibrant backdrop of Kolhapur, Maharashtra, and follows the journey of Vaiju, a dedicated and visionary young woman who works tirelessly in the fields to support her family. Despite her hardships, Vaiju remains determined to improve her family’s circumstances and uplift her village. However, her life takes unexpected turns after she meets Rannvijay, leading to an unforeseen marriage. The show will explore Vaiju’s emotional struggles as she navigates this loveless marriage while holding on to her dreams and aspirations.

Ankit Gupta, known for his roles in North Indian productions, faces a new challenge in Maati Se Bandhi Dor as he portrays a Marathi mulga, or Marathi boy, Rannvijay. To authentically bring this character to life, Ankit is diligently learning Marathi. Despite his North Indian background and initial unfamiliarity with the language, he is committed to mastering the diction and tone required for the role.

In a recent interview, Ankit Gupta shared his thoughts on this journey: “In the Star Plus show Maati Se Bandhi Dor, I am essaying the role of Rannvijay, who is a Marathi mulga. This is the first time I’ll be portraying the character of a Maharashtrian. In order to get into the skin of the character of Rannvijay, I am learning Marathi. The difficulty is not in learning the Marathi language but in acquiring the diction and tone of the language. With the whole cast being familiar with the Marathi language, it became easy for me to grasp the words. It is a fun experience, and with each day, I am learning new words in Marathi.”

Maati Se Bandhi Dor promises to be a compelling narrative of resilience, cultural nuances, and the intricacies of relationships. The show is set to premiere on Star Plus on May 27th at 7:30 p.m., airing every day from Monday to Sunday.
