Exclusive! Amika Shail, “I Remember Watching Prabhas And Imagining Myself With Him In The Movie”

Singer-turned actress Amika Shail who has predominantly worked in web shows is now going to showcase her dancing skills for an item song from the Malayalam movie ‘Nobody’.

We got in touch with her to find out how is it like getting approached for an item song in Nobody and this is what she said, “I was very glad to have landed the offer. I remember getting a call from the producer of Nobody where he asked me if I wanted to be a part of their item song to which I instantly said agreed without hesitating. This is would be first project from the South and I didn’t want to let it go. Plus I was getting to dance for the first time so it is very exciting, to top it all it was an item song, the costumes and everything gave me Nora Fatehi vibes.” She further added, “It was a great experience to say the least, I practiced the song in a day and I was already good to go.”

When asked if she has ever watched any South content to get an idea about how they work, “I’ve been a huge fan of the South Industry. I’m an avid watcher of South movies and shows. I remember watching the actor Prabhas in a movie and imagining myself alongside him. I also wished I was a part of the song ‘Arabic Kuthu’. I mean Pooja Hedge did a good job in the song its just that I would imagine myself doing the dance in her place (laughs). To be honest I have a emotional connection for the South industry so hopefully one day I get to star in one of the South movies after this project.”

Apart from her new venture into the South, Amika has been a part of shows like Balveer Returns on Sony SAB, Divya Drishtion Star Plus, Udaan on Colors TV as well as playing pivotal characters in Akshay Kumar starrer Laxmmi, Mirzapur 2, Gandii Baat 6, Disney+ Hotstar’s Chhatis Aur Maina among others.
