Exclusive | Mahir Pandhi – “Nimrit’s Reaction Was Amazing For Vanshaj!”

Finally for the new show on Sony Sab we got to connect personally with Mahir Pandhi, the new lead in Vanshaj. He has shared a lot of stuff with us as everyone was clueless how it all happened and when, so here you get all the information in this exclusive interview with us while we ask some our questions and some asked by you. Let’s get started!

Firstly, we asked his excitement knowing this personality who has entertained us in Chhoti Sardarni, Now again leading freshly in Vanshaj?

“Excitement is another level. As we say the whole town has been painted, we can see our hoardings everywhere, be it from the cabs, metro literally everywhere, Sab TV and Swastik has done a really god job with the promotion. Everyone’s fingers are crossed until the 12th. This is something that you haven’t watched before on Sab TV also on Television, A definite yes on web hence the excitement and nervousness is happening together. It’s a new challenge, a thrill, the character means I really enjoy playing DJ. Every morning when I read the script, looking at the script my reaction goes, yes today’s going to be definitely a fun day, it will be amazing doing this today.”

We all can see somewhere that this is a grey shade, how would you describe the same to the viewers?

“See when we say grey shade, in TV people find it negative. I feel the positive characters are restricted but when it comes to play the negative characters, you get a freedom to play that role, the field is very vast. You can do a lot more things and you do too so you enjoy it too. But there is a fear of typecast. But yaa again working with Sidharth sir, Rahul sir and Swastik entirely in fact is a joy, before also we tried to connect and work together but somethings happened so we couldn’t but now that’s the excitement that it is finally happening. Everyone feels a show coming on Sony Sab means it’ll be a comedy show but it is not. In the script, you get an ensemble cast, so many veteran actors.”

Now comes the twist; ” I had auditioned for a different character, looking at the different audition they felt I was fit for DJ, you must read the script and try it out once.”

What was Nimrit’s reaction when you told her about the show?

“yaar y’all are actually the first ones to witness the luck she has wished me for the show. She has already congratulated me publicly. More importantly, friends are always happy for their other friends so yeah that’s all”

As we witness there might be some politics also in the show so how would you make it easier for the viewers to understand?

“Yeah true! the show is all about capability vs inheritance. It means who is capable for a certain thing and who is actually born in certain circumstances. It has a very good message that why girls are not given the equal chance. Basically, what I see women are enough, they don’t need a man next to them to do anything or basically prove themselves. We are trying to deliver the same in a very different way. Now here in the show we see DJ is not given an equal chance because since childhood he has been working hard and eyeing “the” position of the great heir in the house but then suddenly he is told there is a girl who needs to be in that position and deserves it more.”

So there were certain rumors of you doing a reality show before but now comes this show you are going to lead in. What do you have to say?

“So there was a chaos with the dates for certain stuff. Before Vanshaj, there was an issue of dates, and sayings like I’ll be doing Bigg Boss, the dates weren’t matching because I wasn’t in India. As soon as I was available, there was a call from Swastik Production, no second thought and it was a yes.”

Lastly, a message to your fans and viewers who have showered the love so far and now a new show?

” What to say, the fans and viewers have always supported so first of all thank you so much for that. Now entering all afresh with a new show, a new character very soon. Please watch, enjoy, love because genuinely we have really worked hard for this. We need your support. Thank you!”
