Star Plus is treating the audience with a never seen before show ‘Anandi Baa aur Emily’, a unique and creative concept that is sure to leave the audiences engaged especially with some talented cast like Kanchan Gupta, Mishkat Varma, and the cherry on top Jazzy Ballerini. The dynamics of a traditional Indian family gets shaken due to the arrival of a foreign ‘Bahu’ i.e. Emily aka Jazzy Ballerini. She shared what is it like taking up an Indian television show, her preparations for acing the Hindi language and more.

How do you feel about bagging an Indian television show i.e. Anandi Baa aur Emily as a lead?

I feel so extremely lucky to have had such a big opportunity come my way, I know there are a lot of people who dream to be a part of a show like this. That’s why everyday I count my blessings and appreciate what god has given me.

How did your family and friends back at home react to you being in a Indian TV show?

My family is so proud of me and they are my biggest supporters. They love India just as much as I do. They helped me achieve every goal I have ever had. My mother even came to India to support me a few months ago, they are all eagerly waiting for the show to come on air. My family are the most important thing in my life without the support they have given me I would not be where I am today.

How did you prepare for your character especially when it came to speaking in Hindi?

Optimystix helped me a lot with preparation for this show. They gave me coaches and Hindi teachers. As when I came to Mumbai I did not know any Hindi at all and had hardly any experience in acting. It was really tough and I felt the pressure big time because I didn’t want to disappoint anyone after having them put there trust in me. But I have done well and picked up the language pretty fast considering I have been here only a few months. I have a long way to go but with the help of everyone around me I know I will definitely get there in no time.

Have you watched any Indian television show before to get a fair idea about them?

Before coming for the show I had no idea about Hindi television and had never watched it before. It was a new world for me and I was like a fish out of water, but my love for India is so big that it came naturally for me as deep down my heart is Indian. Now I can say that I have more knowledge about Indian TV shows and I really enjoy being a part of my upcoming Tv show. I can’t wait for the public to see my journey through out the show.

What is your bonding like with your co-stars?

I have a great bonding with my co-stars, I could not have asked for better people. It really is a dream come true and makes working feel easy. They all support me and believe in me and I really appreciate them.

Do you have someone to look up to from the TV or Bollywood industry? If yes who is it?

Katrina Kaif is a inspiration to me as I have seen her journey she started off just like me and is now one of the most well known and respected actors in the industry. I’m sure she had to face many obstacles along her way which I think I can relate to. I hope one day I will win the hearts of India like she did.

What would you like to tell the audience in regards to your show? A message that you would like to convey?

I’m excited for the audience to see Emily aur Anandi baa. This is a show that all the family can enjoy and watch together. There will be lots of laughs and even maybe a few tears. It’s something different and I hope the audience will love it.

Catch Jazzy Ballerini in an interesting avatar in ‘Anandi Baa Aur Emily’ starting from 27th June onwards only on Star Plus.
