Ishaan Singh Manhas talks about being a part of Sanjog

Actor Ishaan Singh Manhas, who is part of the Sanjog program, says he loves being part of the project. The actor, who last starred in Ek Bhram Sarvagun Sampann’s show, says the show was wrapped up at the last moment. “Sanjog’s casting had reached its final stage and filming was about to begin. Casting for the role of Alok was pending as they couldn’t name anyone. Then I got a call from his casting manager to send an urgent audition.

I was also shooting for an Affinity series at the time, so somehow I managed to shoot the audition video at 3 am. in the morning and I was cast after a few days,” he says.
About his role, he says: “In Sanjog, I play the role of Alok Agrawal. He’s a very positive guy. In the show, he is a police officer and also a very protective brother of Amrita (Shefali Sharma). As an honest officer, he dedicates himself 100% to his professional duties while making sure that his sister is well. You can’t see any tears in her eyes. They have no parents, so he is like his brother and father at the same time. There are two families on the show and both have their secrets and misdeeds. Alok is the guy on the show who knows everything and takes care of her over time.” He adds: “I have a great relationship with Alok.

Although I don’t have a sister, I also take care of my family. And just like Alok, I stand by my principles whether people like it or not.” Title, in the story, the male actors have the same importance as the actresses. Even the awards are separated into male and female categories, showing no gender biases.

I’m a very private person, so I don’t like opening up to people I don’t even know.” He says he’s gotten used to the pressure.

“For us daily soap actors, there is no difference between weekends or weekdays. The shooting schedule is unpredictable and one cannot expect to take holidays.

Some shows are being telecast six days a week and some seven days a week. So, the makers have to shoot almost every day. And then there is a race for the best TRP. So, the pressure is from all directions. But we have got used to the pressure and love our work. Unlike films where it’s a 2/3 month shoot, we face the camera almost every day on TV. I personally love to face the camera and live the character even if I have to shoot 30 days a month.”
