When it comes to going beyond dance and performance, COLORS’ “Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa” has set the bar pretty high. This weekend, the “Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa” family will immerse themselves in the spirit of the festival by presenting performances centered around the various mythological treasures of India in the “Diwali Special” episode. From depicting the fight between ‘Rakhtbeej’ and ‘Maa Kali’ to depicting the fight between ‘Ganga’ and ‘Lord Shiva’, this week participants will immerse themselves in Indian culture, staging numerous epic stories through visually stunning performances. One such performance that leaves a strong impression on the jury and the audience is that of Nishant Bhat and fellow choreographer Anuradha. Nishant is challenged to enact the story of ‘Ravana’ and how his ego led him to his doom through the traditional Kannada dance form ‘Yakshagana’.

Nishant dons a £70 outfit for her performance, making history on the show and leaving everyone in awe. He reveals that this is the first time that “Ravana” has been performed through “Yakshagana” on national television. shown on TV. I wanted to challenge myself and do something that nobody had done before.
