Rajniesh Duggal stars in Bal Naren, a Swachh Bharat Abhiyan inspired film in times of Covid
Rajniesh Duggal’s upcoming Bal Naren is inspired by Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. The actor will play the role of Dr. Siddharth will play while Yagya Bhasin will play Naren. The actor tells us the details of the project. “Dr. Siddharth is a very interesting character. He is someone acting like Lord Krishna who is there to protect the village from a deadly virus.
He’s also the boy from town who only returns to protect his people from Covid, ultimately through the perfect medium that is Naren. The fact that it’s a film about a very interesting societal issue and not just based on one area but a global issue made me want to take on this project. It’s also very well written and I was motivated by the passion I saw in the director’s eyes. He was assisted by producers Deepak Mukut Sir and Hunar Mukut,” says. Playing Doctor Siddharth was really a very interesting experience for Rajniesh.
“He’s a very likable character, a pure-hearted man, someone from this town who studied in a metropolitan area and is going back to his roots to give back to society. He’s a man on a mission.” As well as taking inspiration from India’s clean drive, the film highlights the importance of cleanliness during the pandemic. “The idea of cleanliness and like a 14-year-old boy with his determination and his efforts to prevent his village from having more Covid cases is really inspiring. There is a lot to learn from this film,” he says.
The actor himself defends the cleanup. “I absolutely believe that the cleanup campaign should be taken seriously as it can put an end to many diseases such as dengue fever, malaria, etc. Personally, I have always made sure that things around me or around me remain clean. We’ve been running cleanup campaigns in our areas for quite some time,” he shares. This film is very different from what Rajniesh has done in the past.
The reason I was so excited to work on this project. “It’s a film with a social message: Swachh Bharat. So, it’s something that immediately caught my eye and I gave this film my thumbs up. I’m glad Pawan-san and Deepak-san thought of me for this role. dr Siddharth is a wonderful Krishna for his Arjuna Naren,” he adds.
Regarding his work experience with Yagya, Rajniesh shares: “We hit it off straight away. From the day we read something in the office during pre-production to the first day of shooting, it was an amazing experience. Yagya is a very talented boy, very focused and understanding. I can feel his passion for acting and I think it will take him far. Her father is very supportive of her work and is always by her side. He did a fabulous job as a Naren.”
